CEO | Ace Development Fund
Growing up in Manhattan Beach, California an affluent area, I thought that was how most people lived until I went on a trip to Indonesia and later to Nepal and India and realized that there were many parts of the world in poverty and with that low life expectancy, high infant morality, low literacy, etc. I saw in Nepal that one of the ways villiage families survived was to sell their daughters into slavery. As I saw this I thought I should spend my life to help in these areas”.
Elisabeth then started working and living in Nepal and India for over 28 years. During this time she along with her co-workers developed many different projects in Nepal and India. Some of these projects were pre-schools, children homes, literacy programs, community development programs, clinics, vocational and character training, widow’s homes, etc.
As the work grew Elisabeth also realized that to help people to help themselves was a very important part of seeing communities developed. With this understanding she started to focus on helping people in these countries and other parts of Asia and Africa to develop businesses that would impact their communities for good. She saw that what people needed many times in poor parts of the world were abit of training, connections and opportunities.
It was out of this passion that she took over ACE, which had just been registered by a friend of hers. She is passionate about getting business people involved in helping to use their skills and talents to help parts of the world that need business in order to bring true development. She lives with her husband part time in Pune, India and part time in Gig Harbor, Washington. She has grown daughters
